The second annual RHA National Lorry Week is taking place from Monday 19th – Saturday 24th September 2016.

The theme for this years’ awareness is on attracting The Next Generation of haulage and logistics professionals. Members of the public will be able to attend a range of initiatives across the country. This will allow them to get up close and personal with the nation’s trucks

RHA CEO Richard Burnett spoke at a reception at Westminster to tell MP’s how the RHA is working to change the perception of the industry and urged them to support National Lorry Week. He also urged MP’s to work with the RHA on road transport issues. Richard stated,

‘We started and led the debate on the driver shortage and now, with the new Trailblazer apprenticeships, we aim to lead a transformation in the way the industry recruits and trains. This will benefit hauliers, the apprentices and the UK economy.’

There are lots of activities taking place around the country from a HGV Ride and Drive day in Dunstable to a family fun day in Solihull and lots of events to encourage the next generation into haulage and logistics in association with schools across the country.
