The Commercial Vehicle Show
If you’re in the industry, then you’re bound to know about the Commercial Vehicle Show – this year April 25th – 27th at the NEC, and still the largest and most comprehensive road freight transport, distribution and logistics event in Britain.
Sector suppliers use it as a showcase for their services and products, and for operators it’s an annual meeting place. The Show brings together 21,000 industry business visitors at the NEC Birmingham, from across the country, with the majority of attendees being senior managers, engineers, fleet owners or suppliers.
For those who haven’t been before, we’d encourage you to visit, as it really is the place to find new ideas that may be instrumental in how you run your business. Obviously there are new product launches and improvements on old ideas, but it’s also the place to learn about changes in the law, compliance and (very important) – to network. You never know who you’re going to be chatting to on a stand or in the bar!
Taking a quick peek at the breaking news for the up-coming show, there’s quite a buzz around CAVs (Connected and automated vehicles), which are being tipped to transform the lives of six out of every 10 people in the UK in the future, according to new research published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
And as if all this wasn’t enough – there’s a dedicated workshop area, described as ‘an all-encompassing shop window spanning the whole automotive aftermarket and and CV maintenance sector’, and a coolzone, for operators in the refrigerated sector.
So yes – it’s all happening. Make sure you’re one of the 21,000 who stays in the know!
